Cozy Love

Cozy Love by Megan Richardson

The first few days after Dad goes back to work can be full of anxiety. Each soft coo from the baby feels amplified by the stillness of the air and the responsibilities waiting outside the warmth of our little cocoon. Being nestled together provides comfort for both Mom and baby. Body to body, breath to breath, Cozy Love is a gentle reminder that you were designed for this.

When Dad comes home, he’ll kick off his shoes and slide into this snuggly haven too. Intimacy isn't always this cozy, but love is the soothing shell engulfing each complexity and worry.

Those golden daylight snuggles, enveloped in the warmth of newfound love, have the power to quiet the chaos, if only for a moment. It’s essential to cherish this precious time together; anxiety can slip in quietly, and the newborn stage can feel as elusive and frustrating as four ounces of milk spilled from a haka cup at 3 a.m. This too shall pass. Take the time to soak up all the goodness, savor every sticky hug, and after you cry over your spilled milk, remember to laugh. You were made for this!
