Meet Mamma De Leche

The name "Mamma De Leche" was inspired by my own experience of pumping for my newborn daughter. I called myself Mamma De Leche, a title I felt I earned after dedicating 3,000 hours to pumping for her in the first five months of her life.

Eden faced challenges with a poor latch and could only take a bottle, while my milk supply dwindled as I struggled to learn effective pumping techniques. She often looked to her dad for feedings, leaving me feeling defeated for not being able to nurse.

At six months old, she learned how to nurse after much prayer and a consultation with a lactation consultant, who I believe was sent by God to encourage me and offer simple tips to help her latch. Initially, I thought I was a failure for not being able to nurse her during those five months. However, looking back, I now see that God was building me into a warrior

I decided that I wanted to use all of my experience to help other moms who were navigating the sleep deprived, delirious maze of milking that I had been on. Mamma de Leche is the badge of honor for all women who love and nourish their babies with that liquid gold .

Whether you are providing your baby with formula or breast milk, it is perfectly fine  to cry over spilled milk!  There is an ancient art whereby tears can be collected and crystalized into jewels that reflect your strength and resilience. God is the  craftsman who perfected that art. Mamma De Leche came from  my tears and yours. She is in all of us who work hard and sacrifice our bodies, our time, & our sleep for our babies.
